I'd been hearing rave reviews from friends, both locals and visitors alike, all saying, "You HAVE to try this place!" So, when one of my friends suggested an early dinner there, I jumped at the chance. First off, I had no idea where this place was located since I rarely venture "west of Federal," but turns out it's in the same plaza as the Aldi off Linton. (My one and only visit to that Aldi left me with mild PTSD from battling senior citizens for lettuce - West Delray adventures, right?) When you hear "hole-in-the-wall sushi spot," Furin Sushi and Thai should come to mind immediately. The place is rather small, with just a few tables, giving it a cozy, intimate vibe. But don't let the size fool you - this small restaurant tucked in the strip mall delivers some seriously impressive food. The menu is HUGE - think Cheesecake Factory-sized, but for sushi and Thai delights. Navigating through the menu could be a whole evening's activity in itself, with page after page of mouth-watering options. From traditional sushi rolls to a wide array of Thai dishes, there's a lot. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the choices, just ask your server. They're incredibly helpful and eager to make recommendations based on your preferences. We started with a few different kinds of sushi. The portions were generous, and the prices were just right - a rare combo around here! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was clear from the first bite why this place has such a loyal following. But wait, there's more! We also some ramen. It was everything you'd want in a comfort food - rich broth, tender noodles, and savory toppings that made every spoonful a delight. The contrast between the cold sushi and the warm, hearty ramen was perfect for our mixed cravings. The atmosphere might be unassuming, but the service is top-notch. Our server was attentive and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great dining experience. She checked on us frequently, refilled our drinks promptly, and even shared some insider tips about their favorite dishes and how they're prepared. It's the kind of personalized service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. Despite being in a strip mall, Furin Sushi and Thai has a charm that's hard to beat. The small space adds to its appeal - it feels like you've discovered a secret spot that only the lucky ones know about. So, if you find yourself "west of Federal" and craving something amazing, make your way to Furin Sushi and Thai.

This place is awesome, I love the atmosphere, the people are friendly and courteous. The food is amazing. The sunomono was awesome definitely a must have. I had the monster crab roll this time and it was amazing, Paul had the cutie roll and it looked perfect. Had some blue fin tuna and that was awesome. The saki is perfect temp and great stuff. Everything at this place is awesome. Rod took great care of us here. Will definitely be back for more. If I could give this place 10 stars I would.

This place was a joy! They are friendly the moment you enter. Clean and ambiance is colorful. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came quickly. Menu is quite expansive so have an idea on how to narrow it down. Portions are good. Sushi delicious. Udon pad Thai was yummy. A bit heavy on the fish sauce for me but not for my friend. Definitely not a disappointment. Very well staffed.

The food has good flavor and the service was amazing. They were closing and still accommodated my food order. I was able to contactless get in and out. They also created me as if I had just walking in on a busy day not last minute.

One of my best friends raves about this place and I see why! We decided to go so I could experience this delicious and fun restaurant. Off the beaten path in the Aldi plaza is this hidden gem. First off, the decor is very quaint and playful, and as you enter, bountiful greetings from their friendly staff. This is a restaurant that appreciates your business and wants to make sure you enjoy yourself. Rod, the chef/owner was very friendly and the staff is trained well. Started with edamame, and had a few rolls: tuna lover roll, Delray roll, scorpion king roll, crazy salmon roll, and one other. ALL winners. Actually, everything coming out of the kitchen looked great -- and you can tell the restaurant takes pride in their dishes. I'm really glad my friend broadened my sushi horizons with this place because I'm adding it to my list of "will be back" for sure.

We had a really good time trying out Furin for lunch. We were the first customers to arrive upon opening. So service was quick and food was piping hot. The server kindly explained the menu as it was our first time and patiently waited for us to decide. I ended up getting the lunch combo which was an excellent deal. The sushi was okay but the cashew nut with shrimp was excellent. The food definitely has an umami taste so I can see why the crowd picked up while we were eating. I would definitely consider this place a hidden gem as it's in a plaza with a Aldi and Big Lots nestled in Delray by Military and Atlantic. The weather was nice so we ate outside although I was attacked by a bee. I gave this place four stars because my water was never refilled and we didn't have soy sauce for the sushi. I'd love to come back to try more food items.

We've seen this spot next to Aldi and Sal's and always wanted to try. So after a Sunday night grocery shopping we decided to give it a try. Really off the radar, not much of advertising or super wow decoration for the place but let me tell you!! The temaki (sushi cone) of spicy crab, super filled with meat like it was really chubby!! Really tasty and not that spicy tbh (for my fellow spicy scared). My roll wasnt that much I expected on taste, maybe i missed by ordering it but let me tell you, 10 piece roll and thick thick pieces. So come in hungry because it will be too much and u'll need to take home Service was ok, greeted and had drinks promptly. Will be back!

Raining needed to get out and landed here! Great greeting from staff makes you feel special. Ordered Tom Yum soup with veggies and an Ocean Roll. The roll is important because many restaurants serve everything with potatoes and rice- I eat neither and this is a different roll with lots of fish and no rice! Great presentation and mostly absolutely delicious!!! Whoever designed this roll is an artist! The restaurant was very quiet in fact I was the only one here for awhile. FURIN is a great restaurant with sincere taste and care for the patrons.

Just when I thought I had eaten all the sushi there was to try in Delray Beach, I stumble upon Furin and am shocked this sushi restaurant has escaped my radar for so long. Located in an old strip mall, the inside does not match the dingy exterior. They have freshened up the walls and decor into a lively and inviting space. We had a wonderful waitress named Grace, whose name really embodied her personality. She was warm, helpful in providing suggestions, and very attentive to small details that she thought we might need. She really made this dinner enjoyable. She even threw in an extra mochi ice cream and gave us assorted flavors for dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday..and then comp'd it. What a doll. We shared the pork gyoza app which was fried. They have an extensive menu of sushi as well as Thai food, with very helpful color photos to match, but which don't help at all in choosing a roll to try, as they all look and sound so delicious! However you do notice right away from perusing the menu that the prices are on the higher end. Only very basic rolls were under $10, otherwise expect to pay $20+ per roll. After being stuck between choosing several spicy tuna/jalapeño combos that I tend to gravitate towards, I settled on the Bangkok roll and was not disappointed. It had tuna and salmon inside with jalapeño for a kick, and crispy flakes for texture. I asked for the sauce on the side , which was a mixture of eel and spicy kimchee, and I'm glad I did as many places tend to douse the rolls and all you end up tasting is the overpowering sauce. The sauce was a perfect complement of spicy and sweet without being overly salty as kimchee usually tends to taste IMO. It came with 10 pieces and I was satisfied...although if I had given in to my greedy thoughts, I would've ordered a second roll just to maximize trying the menu. I'm glad I didn't, so I can just come back and bring more people to this hidden gem. As an aside...The only gripe I had was feeling frequently pestered at the end of the meal by another waiter - a young tactless boy - who came to our table often to ask if we were finished, and even long after the plates were gone, kept towering over us to ask if we needed something. I think he was just trying to be helpful, but his pointed questions and comments came off rude and it was very obvious he was anxious for us to leave . Mind you, our waitress Grace was taking great care of us. Aside from that slight annoyance, our experience was pleasant. Make sure to ask for Grace as your waitress if you are dining in!

I really liked my lunch here today. They have a lot of lunch specials of both sushi/Japanese and Thai offerings --plus their regular full menu. So many items looked appealing that it was hard to choose which one to try. Service was welcoming and friendly. The kitchen was pretty fast, as well. We both decided on their Thai "crazy mix". You get a choice of soup or salad. Then a choice of two appetizers and a main entree with white rice -- all served in a compartmentalized bento box. I had their salad which was mixed greens with shredded carrots, cucumbers, and a grape tomato. The dressing was carrot ginger. I think I'll try the miso soup next time. For my two apps, I chose the crispy shrimp tempura (two lightly battered pieces of shrimp) and their fried pork gyoza dumplings (3 pieces). Each had its own dipping sauce. For an entree, I had their shrimp in ginger sauce. Along with the shrimp, there was zucchini, red and green peppers, carrots, mushrooms, and celery. I had requested no onions. All the shrimp and veggies were in a ginger sauce with actual slivers of ginger. It went well with the white rice. We both really liked our lunches. The prices are also quite reasonable. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu.
